Thank You To ALL My Sponsors

I would also like to thank all of my current sponsors. First and foremost are the folks at Johnson Cams. Please click here to read a very special thank you to Keith and Linda Johnson and Harold MacDonald. Harold is Tusk Racing and is responsible for the headwork that goes so well with my Johnson Cams. What a team!

Next is Drum Evans at FlatTrackStuff.com and 218 Designs. He has built my website, written articles and press releases. He has helped me with sponsorship applications and coordination afterwards. With his buddy Jeff at ProCycle.us, they have also helped me with parts whenever I need them! They have even arranged to have things shipped to various places across the country so I can pick them up.

Digger Helm. What can I say about this guy. He has remembered his flat track racing roots and now likes to help racers when he can, and I am so grateful to have made the list this year. Thank you Digger!!

I would really like to thank Kenny Hapke at Hap's Racing Leathers. Hap's has just supplied me with a new set of leathers, click here to take a look! 218 Designs created the look and it really came out fantastic! (Congratulations to Kenny on his 8th Place Overall, Super Senior 50+ Open Class finish in the 2008 AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track Grand Championships!!! He is almost 60 years old and has been racing since the 60's! You GO Kenny! Another big thanks to Neil Keen for the recommendation!)

K&N Performance Filters has joined the program and I really want to thank them for helping me out! They did a really nice write up about me on their website if you can believe that. Click here to see the article. Many big thanks again to the folks at K&N Performance Filters, best filter made!

Danny Walker and American Supercamp have also been great to me. After attending a class as a paying customer, Danny called me back and let me volunteer as a guest instructor. This really helps as I get to work with students and get lots of ride time. If you have not attended a session at American Supercamp, you need to do it, you will be very glad you did. Also, you'll probably get to meet me there! [Editors note: I will second this! Best time of your life!] Click here to read a story about riding against a legend!

Jamie Nicely and his company Micah Racing have also stepped up and are supporting my program. I really want to thank Jamie for his kindness and support. Running the twins class this year means I will sure need a lot of tires! If you need tires, call Jamie at 775/742-6690 and he will set you up.

I really want to thank the folks at Suomy Helmets for coming on board and helping me out with both motocross style helmets for DTX races and full-face helmets for the big tracks. These are the most comfortable helmets I have ever worn. I hope I am the second fastest Aussie they ever sponsor. (I think that Troy Bayliss will keep first place locked up for quite some time!) Thank you for your support!

Vortex Racing is giving me a hand with sprockets, chain and handlebars. I have used their products in the past because they were the best, nice to have them on this page and helping me out.

O'Neal Racing has been kind enough to help me out with motocross gear for short track and TT races. Great gear and I am really happy to be associated with such a nice folks. Thanks to the folks at O'Neal Racing.

Mike Boughner is Boughner Racing Suspension and he has helped me out for the last part of this season. After seeing that I was struggling with some fork issues, he rebuilt them for me in about two days and shipped them back to me so I wouldn't miss a race. Really stepped up to the program and I want to give him a big thanks.

JRC Engineering has joined forces with as well. While these guys basically do Triumph restoration parts, they are still supporting the great sport of flat track racing. Hopefully I will get to ride that Steve Berg Triumph at Willow Springs again this year. That would be fantastic! See them for all your Triumph and English motorcycle parts.

Another tuner that has been indespensible to our Twins program is David Lanigan at SpeedDealer Motors in Seattle. This guy is a guru on the Suzuki SV650 and helped get ours running early on when we had some issues with the EFI system. He donated extra parts and lots of technical advice. I also hope to get back on one of his roadracers later this year. Thanks for all your help Dave.

Still Looking for Additional Sponsors!

Racing is expensive. The travel costs alone are getting astronomical. Take a moment to look at the schedule for 2009 (click here to see that) and think about the number of miles to be traveled. If you just went from race track to race track, no other travels in between (like food, hotels, campgrounds, etc.), according to Google Maps that would be 13,417 miles. At an average price of $2.00 per gallon for fuel (sure to go up this summer again) that is $1341.70 just to get from race to race. (This does not include two event locations still to be determined!)

That is just fuel for my van, no food or other living expenses built into that. My point is that though I have a great list of sponsors, and I appreciate all they have done for me, I really need additional funding or product support to bring my program to the championship level. If you have a product you would like me to use and promote - great! If you want to provide a service or can afford to supplement my fund with cash for entry fees and the like, that would be fantastic as well. If you know of somebody that should or would like to sponsor me, please let me know.

In exchange, I will provide excellent exposure for your products or services. Whenever I have an opportunity to speak to race fans or other racers, I will always promote your products or services to the best of my ability. I can also distribute flyers and stickers, put up banners or whatever else necessary to promote your product.

The best endorsement of all is doing well of course. It is great to see your product brand on the podium! Your sticker or patch in a magazine photo shoot, or on the web, both are a great way to show potential customers that you have a winning product. With your help I will be doing a lot of that this season.

If you are interested in sponsoring the fastest dirt tracker from down under, please drop me a note at luke@lukegough.com and I will see that you get a package as quickly as possible.
